This site has been set up to offer tarot readings to a wider range of clientele. It is also a site dedicated to the art of divination, particularly the tarot, and the realm of the psychic. The cards never lie, and they often tell you something you don't want to hear. Sometimes they tell you things you already know and try to deny.

I have used the cards many times to see what answers they would reveal in missing person cases, and it has always been astounding and inevitably disturbing.

The cards allow you to bring images to mind at will—both images inspired by the cards and images that surface from the dark recesses of your subconscious.

It places a point before you and will keep relentlessly repeating
itself until you listen.

The persistent annoyance of premonitions will keep resurfacing—perhaps bringing a particular person to mind—and keeping them at the forefront of your thoughts until the warning is heeded.

Tarot will allow your mind to lazily sift through nuances of color, form, shape—until the puzzle pieces of your own everyday mundane life fall into place, creating new portraits and landscapes and patterns of your world.

What is divination?

Divination is defined by Webster's New World Dictionary as:

The art or practice of trying to foretell the future or explore the unknown by occult means. A Prophecy; an augury.

There are an enormous variety of techniques for attempting to foretell the future. Some include...

Astrology: This is the concept that one's future is dependent upon the location of the sun, moon and planets at the precise time of a person's birth.

Bird organs: The ancient Romans would prophecy the future on the basis of the internal organs of birds that had been sacrificed for the purpose.

I Ching: This is an ancient Chinese oracle book which can be used to foretell the future, answer questions, etc. The practitioner generates a number from 1 to 64 by selecting sticks, or casting dice or coins. The oracle book assigns different meanings to each of the numbers.

Numerology: This is the practice of assigning a digit to each letter in a person's name, and deriving a series of numbers which have special significance to the person.

Palm reading: A person's future is foretold by observing the creases in their palm and shape of their fingers.

Runes: These are a group of from 16 to 31 (typically 26) letters of an ancient Northern European alphabet. The letters are inscribed on small rocks or pieces of paper or plastic. The runes are cast, and the future foretold from the runes that land inverted and not inverted, as well as from their location.

Scrying: This is a technique of producing visions of the future by gazing into a crystal ball, black mirror, bowl of water, hot coals from a fire, etc.

Tarot cards: This involves fortune telling through the use of a pack of 78 Tarot cards. The cards are shuffled; a few are dealt and laid in a specific formation (circle, cross, square, etc.). The cards are interpreted according to their intrinsic meaning, as modified by the significance of their location.

Teacup reading: The future is predicted by the shapes formed by tea leaves after a cup of tea has been consumed.

Other methods: Future events have been predicted through the use of dice, dominos, dream interpretation, pendulum movements, playing cards, various trance techniques, etc.

Personal Psychic Experiences

I've been psychic ever since I can remember. My earliest days of childhood are filled with what the general population would consider 'unusual experiences'. My grandmother, the woman who raised me, viewed this phenomenon as completely natural. Thus, as a small child-- so did I. Then, in 1969, a psychic experience was to change my life forever...

Easter Sunday, 1969, I was 12 years old.

It had been a horrendous winter. My Aunt & Uncle had been snowed in for months. We were only able to have Easter dinner with them by driving a long route and coming in from the east as opposed to the more direct west route. Even then, we had to park our car on top of a hill and walk part of the way to their farmhouse, down a hill, across a small valley and up over the next hill.

It was after dinner. The women were still in the kitchen chatting. My uncle and grandfather were sitting in the living room listening to music, along with my sister and me. We were both perched on the edge of a long piano stool.

I looked across the room at my Uncle, who was stretched out on the sofa, one arm behind his head. As I watched, I was startled and fascinated to see the back of the sofa suddenly swing forward and close over him. I realized that I was seeing my uncle in a coffin with the lid being closed. I shook my head and blinked my eyes to rid myself of this vision.

Later in the afternoon, he left to go outside and check the water levels in the driveway, where the melting snow was beginning to cause flooding. My sister and I were standing in the dining room window, watching him walk up to the house.

We turned away.

A second later we heard a muffled noise, and my Aunt came hysterically screaming from the kitchen doorway, “Mom! Mom!”...calling my grandmother.

My Uncle had stepped into the entryway off the kitchen and collapsed.

They called for an ambulance—which came in the wrong way, the way that was still blocked with deep snow banks, and they had to turn around to come in the same way we did. They also had to walk a gurney the same path we took, across the valley. It took so long for help to get there.

My uncle died that day.

For years afterward, I thought that by seeing that vision I had caused it to happen. I spent a great many years deliberately attempting to squelch any psychic thoughts. It wasn’t until I was in my late teens that I finally told my grandmother about that day and what I saw. She reassured me that what I had seen had been a premonition and had nothing to do with causing the event.

It was then that I really began to understand.

I had felt that an ominous message was coming for 2 or 3 weeks. I did a tarot spread one morning, before the mail came, to see if I could expect something nasty (in-law problems, long story).

An envelope from my mother-in-law arrived.

It gave me a terrible feeling of dread because the tarot spread had told me that “yes”, I could expect unpleasant news. And also, the “Card of the Day” was the 10 of Swords, never a good omen—backstabbing, surgery, illness, death...that is usually what this card brings to me. I shudder when I see it pop up in a reading.

I took the letter that my mother-in-law had sent and went to have lunch with my husband during the noon hour. I gave the letter to him, sitting there on pins and needles while he opened it... It was information on sporting events!!!!! (Sigh of relief)

That night my mother-in-law called...my husband’s father was diagnosed with lymphoma.

The day the beautiful tree was cut down... I was sick about the tree—we all were. But it was the neighbor’s tree; there was nothing we could do about it. During early afternoon, I thought...why don’t I throw coats on the kids and we can run into the city and spend the afternoon at the mall. I thought it would be a better thing to do than sitting here listening to the chain saws and the wood chipper.

But I didn’t feel like going. No enthusiasm. In fact, I didn’t want to go. I was surprised that I felt this way. I thought this was odd. There has never been a time since I’ve become familiar with the city, that I didn’t like—no, love—to make a trip in to shop.

I thought—no, this is silly—throw coats on the kids and let’s go. Vamoose! Get out of here for the afternoon.

And then something dawned on me, something tapped me on the shoulder. Something inside my head said...“Wait. Listen to your inner voice.”

I stopped dead in my tracks in the middle of the living room. The hair on the back of my neck stood up as I realized fully, in that moment, that I was experiencing an omen or a portent. I made a quick mental assessment of everything that I told you above, and it hit me, as though someone was actually speaking inside my head. It’s hard to describe the sensation, but the answer that came to me was:

“Don’t go!”

I knew, without any doubt, that there was a reason that we shouldn’t go. At the time, I didn’t know what that reason was, but I knew my children and I were not to go to the mall this afternoon.

I’ve always preached in my divination blogs not to question the images, messages, etc. that come to you. Just go with the flow, even if the information you’re receiving doesn’t make sense to you at the moment. It was later in the day that I was to learn the meaning and the reason for these feelings, the reason behind this omen or portent.

This was not only the day the beautiful tree was cut down—this was the day of the massacre at Westroads Mall in Omaha, Nebraska.

This mall would have been our destination.

Paranormal State, Medium, and Ghost Hunters are three of my family's favorite programs. Perhaps the reason for this is that paranormal experiences are not unusual occurrences for us, and we enjoy nothing better than a good ghost hunt or viewing some documented paranormal activity:

Growing up in my grandmother’s house prepared me for the paranormal occurrences that I would experience in this, my own house. My grandmother’s house was very active and anyone with an ounce of sensitivity to such things was always very aware of it...the feeling of being “watched” when no one else was near you, the hair suddenly standing up on the back of your neck and the sensation that “someone” was standing behind you, unintelligible whisperings in the dark of the night, a blanket being pulled from you by something you couldn’t see, lights going off and on with no explanation—and stove burners doing the same unnerving thing, objects occasionally moving, etc.

Growing up with these occurrences, I thought it was natural—wasn’t everyone’s house like this? Apparently not, I was to learn as I became older. That enlightenment helped me to appreciate, study, and cope with paranormal activities on a very basic level. It also taught me to conquer any fear.

During the night, my youngest daughter called out to me in distress from her bedroom. When I went to her, she was thrashing around in her covers, upset and frightened. I asked her what was the matter.

“There’s ‘A Lady’ bothering me,” my daughter told me.

After a few more questions, this is what I got: “The Lady” had been standing beside her bed off and on during the night. The Lady was angry or upset or sad.

Unlike the majority of parents, when my children describe unseen entities and paranormal activity to me, I believe them. Also, while standing by my daughter’s bed talking to her, I had a rush of tingling goose flesh run from the bottom of my feet up my legs. I knew that some kind of presence was in the room.

In order to clear my daughter’s room of this “Lady”; I lit a white candle and some incense, tossed a handful of salt about—including under her bed, and left a small bowl of salt on her night stand. I told my daughter that if “The Lady” came to bother her again, she could just take a pinch of salt and toss it at the entity and it would go away.

Reassured, my child—and I—went back to sleep.

The next day came the daily local newspaper: Yesterday evening a pregnant young woman, along with her year old baby, was killed in a head on collision with a semi-trailer truck just a few miles north of our home. This young woman had been the daughter of the people we had bought this house from several years ago.

My daughter was sleeping in what had been this young woman’s bedroom.

Tarot Readings

Before you request a reading from me, you should know that I read using the intuitive method. This means that I not only recognize and utilize the traditional 'book meanings' of the cards, but I allow my own psychic ablities to play into the process as well. Intuitive reading means that an image from the card-- a color, a shape, a form, an object, etc. will catch my eye or sometimes 'leap' at me from the card, and a clairsentient or clairvoyant thought will come to me-- and the information that I glean from a card in this way may have nothing to do with the traditional 'book' meaning of that card. This method makes for very accurate readings with insights that seemingly come from out of the blue, sometimes startling in their on-target hit.

About 'online' readings:

Face to face readings versus online readings...I prefer 'online'. I like to be alone when I do a reading. I light a candle and incense; I lay the spread and, with a pen in one hand, I begin turning the cards, losing myself in the imagery, letting my mind fall open to all possiblities. And I begin to write.

I can do face to face readings. I've done my share. But it's so easy to be distracted by the physical body of the querent-- the anxious expression of the eyes, a bad haircut, an aura of skepticism, the wild shirt, the expectation drawn across the face...I have to stay 'present' for the individual sitting across the table from me, when I would so much rather let myself fall under the spell of the cards

Sample of an Online Reading:

The following is an example of an online tarot reading. This single card spread was drawn for myself within the past two weeks and has no connection with any of my clients or readings done for them.

The events hinted at within this reading have already come to pass.

The 10 of Pentacles-- Reversed

10/Pentacles (R)...The ten of coins (or pentacles) usually represents money that is somehow connected to family in some way, either through business ventures or inheritance, etc. Since the card is reversed, it points to a problem in this area-- something that is not fair, or perhaps someone is not being honest, or there is some sort of legal obstruction tying this money up.

What you read above is the general meaning of this card.

Now I'll look at it again. This time with the intention of an intuitive reading:

Upon this deck (the Universal Rider/Waite), at the bottom of the card, which is now the top of the card, there are two white hounds standing close together at their master's feet. The white-haired master's hand rests on the head of one of the hounds, telling me that whether this person is present or not, he still carries great influence in this matter.

There is a man and woman pictured on this card standing apart from the old man and his hounds. This group is divided, which tells me that there are divisions among family members, sides chosen with lines drawn in the sand, loyalties laid out, etc.

The image of the child hiding behind the couple leaps out at me in a blaring revelation. This 'child' is reaching out, from behind the couple, laying his hand on the rump of one of the white hounds. This 'child' represents a person who is orchestrating these events and manipulating the outcome of this legal matter from behind the scenes.

All in all, this seems to be a pretty sordid story derived from today's card. "Dysfunctional' probably does not begin to describe the family or group of people involved in this situation.

Mysteries of the Tarot

Remember what you read in this beautiful graphic. And the key word here is 'choices'. Although the tarot can show you what has been, where you are now, and what's coming up-- your future is not set in stone. It, like your life, is constantly evolving, a continuous liquid flow of change and turns and twists and dips.

The tarot can show you the paths that are available to you, options you alone must decide upon. It opens new doors, creates new landscapes, and gives timely warnings-- but you have to be willing to listen to the messages, to stand strong in your own decisions, to weigh your options.

Personal Rituals

When it comes to your deck...

The ways to care for and use tarot cards are as varied as the individuals who own them. Some Tarot enthusiasts insist that the cards should be kept in a pine box, as well as wrapped in silk; others believe they should be kept beneath your pillow and never touched by anyone else. Some readers allow the cards to be shuffled by the querent, others believe they should never be touched by the querent. There are owners of tarot decks who go through elaborate rituals before using their cards-- and others who have no ritual at all.

So who is correct?

The answer would have to be that they are all correct.

How you treat your cards, who you allow to handle your cards, the private rituals you may have when it comes to your cards are all an individual matter. As for myself, I believe the cards are but a tool that I use to open my psychic center. I treat them with respect and take good care of them, as I would any other object that I own and cherish. I do like to light a candle and some incense when I'm working on a reading, but it's not an absolute necessity. I really have no mysterious rituals that I perform over my cards before I use them for a reading. As one well-known, established reader once said, "My ritual consists in picking the cards up and shuffling them."

Tarot Key:

If five or more cards in a spread are Major Arcana, something's going on in your life at a karmic level that's destined to be learned or to happen. When this occurs, you're working with other forces or people for these things to happen, and they're going to happen no matter what, so you might as well cooperate. Such a spread helps explain why sometimes you can't seem to get your mind off certain people or situations. Some things are bigger than we are, and we need to accept them when they come along. But it's not necessarily something to worry about!

Can You Get a Good Reading Online?

We think it's always nicer if the Reader and Querent can be in the same room, but when necessary, online readings can be just as enlightening and helpful. The energy of your question will come through whether you cut the cards yourself, or whether you click for a computer-dealt spread. The quality of the reading, though, really depends on who interprets the cards for you.

As with all Tarot Readings, when it comes to those on the Internet, it's a matter of who is reading the cards. The Tarot is unique in that it needs a person to interpret the cards....The best online reading, like any reading, will include both a Tarot Reader and a Querent. Ideally, you've done your research to choose an online Tarot reader with a true gift and ability for reading the cards..."

Bad News...How much do you reveal?

I will never predict a death. In the first place, I don't think human beings in general are meant to handle news of this nature, this magnitude. Allison Dubois has stated that "our guides/guardians will never give us more information than we can handle"-- and the tarot reader shouldn't either. Of all the beings on the face of the earth, humans are the only creatures who are intellectually aware of their mortality. Was this suppose to be a blessing, or more of a curse? I wonder. And besides, your future-- your destiny-- is not set in stone. Remember?

At the last minute someone may change the route they are taking. Another might make a spur of the moment decision to set up a complete physical with their doctor. And yet, someone else might miss a plane, lose a train ticket, or make a sudden and unexpected change of plans that is totally against their usual nature.

As your reader, it is my responsibility to plant a gentle seed of warning, to encourage extra precaution where the cards indicate it is warranted. It is not my job to flood a querent's existence with fear and anxiety-- we face enough of that in our modern world without adding to it unnecessarily.

Cheating lovers...This is one of those decisions best made on an individual basis. Are we talking about a deceased spouse/lover and newly revealed information about what has been, or does this information deal with the present and an affair that's in progress? Will the querent benefit by this information, or will it only serve to hurt them? It's my opinion, in the first scenario, that there would be no purpose served. Why not let the querent remember the deceased loved one and the good times for what they were. Revealing information about an affair posthumously would not be beneficial to the living partner and would only taint the memories they hold dear. As for revealing an infidelity in progress, I would have to weigh the pros and cons for each situation and each querent on a case by case basis. Would this information benefit them legally? Financially? Emotionally?
